This is Ruby Bridges. Ruby Bridges is still alive today. This is recent history, not ancient history. My mother is the same age as Ruby Bridges. This is the recent, lived history of our families. I cannot stress enough that people in our community RIGHT NOW lived through this and in some instances still relive similar experiences today that no child should go through.
For most of us, our families were just like Ruby OR they were like the cruel classmates hurling threats at other children like Ruby and then they did their best to raise another generation to hate.
Please support Ruby and her story which Scholastic announced will release September 6, 2022.

WE ARE BACK FOR PRIDE MONTH!
We are back to promote OTB, celebrate pride month, and especially celebrate the community that has been a safe space for queer fans! This is not just limited to those who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community, and is a way for members and allies to come together and celebrate!
We have 5 themes this year, that will span one week each. You can also choose to use the week’s colour as a theme!
How you can participate as a content creator:

I originally didn’t pay that much attention to Satellite because int didn’t seem as lyrically complex as other songs, but after listening to it a few times, I keep thinking about the lines in Habit, “Took some time cause I ran out of energy/playing someone I heard I’m supposed to be” and “You gave me the time and the space/I was out of control and I'm sorry, I let you down.” I hear Satellite talking about someone who seems to have taken some space to figure themself out until they’re ready to talk things through, and Harry reassuring them that he’s always right there waiting for them to pull him back, that he’s never far and will be there to catch them. They shouldn’t worry, he’s stuck in their orbit (the habit that he can’t break?) and he’s not going anywhere. *cries in an uncool way*
